Paris - AFP Reza Pahlavi, son of the deposed Shah of Iran, stated that "our battle is to liberate ourselves from the Iranian regime," following the announcement of a ceasefire between Tehran and Washington. Pahlavi considered that paying fees to Iran for passage through the Strait of Hormuz, as per the Iranian ceasefire plan, is tantamount to "succumbing to blackmail." Pahlavi told the French LCI television channel: "We hope that the free world will realize that the only solution, not just for us but also for our regional neighbors and for the world at large, is for this regime not to return." He pointed out that "the very same people" are still running the country six weeks into the war.
