Iran Responds to US and Israel Strike

In response to the joint US and Israel strike against Iran on Saturday, Iran responded with missile and drone attacks on Israel and US assets across the Middle East. On Tuesday, local media reported that Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) published data on US casualties during the first two days of retaliation, though the figures differ significantly from those revealed by Washington. An IRGC spokesman reported over 650 US soldiers killed or wounded in the first two days of retaliation. The US Army stated that since 16:00 on Monday (21:00 GMT), six US service members had been killed in military operations against Iran. US media reported that another 18 soldiers were seriously injured. However, US officials stated no casualties were registered at US military bases in Bahrain. At Sea The Iranian spokesman also clarified that a US combat support ship was severely damaged by IRGC missiles, reiterating that four cruise missiles were fired at the USS Abraham Lincoln, after which it 'fled' southeast towards the Indian Ocean. Earlier, US Central Command denied the IRGC's claims of hitting the USS Abraham Lincoln, calling the Iranian claims 'disinformation' and a 'lie,' and adding that Iranian torpedoes 'did not even come close.' Statements from both parties could not be independently verified. Agency NA
