Iran Closes Strait of Hormuz to Oil

A Revolutionary Guard general warned on Monday that they will not allow 'a single drop of oil' to pass through the Strait of Hormuz and will set fire to any ship attempting to cross the strategic waterway. 'We will not allow a single drop of oil to leave the region,' continued the high-ranking official of Iran's elite military corps. Yabari warned that both the Army and the Revolutionary Guard will 'confront any hostile vessel with firmness.' 'The pipelines are also within our reach, and we will not allow the region's energy resources to be at the enemy's disposal,' he added. The general emphasized that the Islamic Republic's armed forces are 'fully prepared to overcome this difficult stage, and countermeasures will continue.' Hours earlier, the Revolutionary Guard claimed to have attacked a tanker, identified as 'Athens Nova', an 'ally of the United States,' in the Strait of Hormuz, which was set ablaze by two drones. In the twelfth wave of attacks on US targets, Iran launched attacks with 26 drones and 5 ballistic missiles at Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, and the Strait of Hormuz, according to the Revolutionary Guard via its Telegram account. According to the Revolutionary Guard, two of these drones hit this tanker in the Strait of Hormuz, although the extent of the damage is unknown.
