The Sakan Tegeran was lost on Saturday after a troubled night due to Israeli airstrikes, which were allegedly directed against Iranian military in Syria.
Israel conducted airstrikes on Friday night in Syria, which were reportedly aimed at Iranian fighters and their allies.
"We were informed of two explosions in the areas of Jamriya and Hissa in the Bekaa Valley."
Iran promptly stated that its military is present in Syria to provide assistance to the government of President Bashar al-Assad in the fight against the insurgents.
