On Saturday, Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated that Tehran will not engage in negotiations under the pressure which he referred to as "economic terrorism." "We reject any negotiations that are conducted under threats or pressure," Khamenei said. This commentary was made recently after the United States imposed new sanctions against Iran and its leader in response to rocket attacks on two bases of U.S. military forces in Iraq at the beginning of January. At the same time, Khamenei also stated that Iran is ready for dialogue with a peaceful world. "We are not against negotiations with states that respect us, but we do not engage with those who threaten us," the ayatollah emphasized.
