Iran and Lebanon Seek to Restore Flights

Iran and Lebanon Seek to Restore Flights

Iran has announced its readiness to conduct a "constructive dialogue" with Lebanon to revive flight connections between Tehran and Beirut after the ban on the landing of two Iranian planes provoked anger from the representatives of the "Hezbollah" party. They blocked the exit to the airport and the international road leading to it, attacking the colonial forces of the UNIFIL peacekeepers, which led to the injury of two officers, one of whom replaced the commander of these troops. As a result, 25 people were arrested, which provoked sharp condemnation from the president and the government.

It is noted that the Iranian Foreign Minister and his Lebanese colleague held telephone conversations about "possible ways to resolve the issue of civilian flights between the two countries" and confirmed "readiness to conduct constructive and productive negotiations," as stated by the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
