Iran Rejects US Ceasefire Plan as Excessive and Unrealistic

Buenos Aires, March 30 (NA) – The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmaeil Baghaei, indicated this Monday that the recent ceasefire plan proposed by Washington contains "very excessive, unrealistic, and unreasonable" demands. During the weekly press conference in Tehran, the official detailed the 15-point proposal delivered through intermediaries to end the current conflict in the Middle East. Baghaei stated that, unlike the United States, "which constantly changes its positions, and whose officials make and demonstrate contradictory comments and behaviors," Iran's stance on relevant issues has been completely clear from the beginning. "As I mentioned earlier, the materials that have been transmitted to us under various titles, such as the '15-point plan,' mainly include very excessive, unrealistic, and unreasonable demands," he added. Baghaei emphasized that "to this moment, we have not had direct negotiations with the United States." The official indicated that since the last round of negotiations with Washington in Geneva on February 26, Iran has received messages through certain intermediaries, including Pakistan, which contained the American disposition and request to negotiate. In that sense, he pointed out that Iran was not present at the meetings held by Pakistan with the participation of neighboring countries. Additionally, he added that Iran will announce its conclusion on the plan in a timely and appropriate manner. "We know very well what our desired framework is."
