US F-15E Shot Down Over Iran: Pilot Search Continues

Search and rescue operations continue after the F-15E fighter jet was shot down over Iran, reported the same US media outlet that became known to the Argentine News Agency. US President Donald Trump was informed about the US combat aircraft that was shot down over Iran on Friday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told CBS News. Earlier, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran reported that its air defense systems shot down a US F-35 fighter jet in the airspace of central Iran, although later satellite imagery determined it was an F-15. In a statement published on its official outlet, Sepah News, accompanied by images that the statement claimed showed the wreckage, the IRGC stated that the aircraft was hit by advanced air defense systems operated by its Aerospace Division. Tehran also offered "a generous reward" for the capture of the pilot of the US aircraft it claims to have shot down in recent hours, according to international media. A crew member of the US F-15E fighter jet shot down over Iran was rescued by US forces, confirmed two US officials to CBS News on Friday. The F-15E is a two-person crew aircraft. The search and rescue mission continues. Regarding the issue, two sources consulted by the CNN network indicated that the rescued pilot was alive, under US custody and receiving medical treatment. It was not clear what the situation of the second crew member was.
