Buenos Aires, March 29 (NA) – Iranian forces have claimed responsibility for an air and naval attack on two aluminum plants linked to the US military industry in the Middle East, according to a report this Sunday from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
«During a combined operation, the Aerospace and Naval Forces fighters of the IRGC carried out effective attacks on two installations linked to the military and aerospace industry of the United States in the region,» stated a communiqué reproduced by the Iranian IRIB agency.
These are the EMAL aluminum plant in the United Arab Emirates and the ALBA aluminum factory in Bahrain, as specified.
The IRGC indicated that the EMAL plant has the world's longest aluminum production line and a manufacturing capacity of 1.3 million tons of aluminum per year.
The attack is part of the operations undertaken by the Tehran government as retaliation for the bombings on Iranian territory carried out by the United States and Israel since last February 28.
