Iranian Parliament Speaker Accuses US of Preparing Ground Operation

The speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, stated on Sunday that the United States is preparing a ground operation against Iran, rejecting what he called a double-dealing by the Washington administration. In a statement released by the official IRNA news agency, the regime official warned about the alleged planning of a military incursion that contradicts the diplomatic messages sent by the North American country in recent days. 'Publicly, the enemy sends messages of negotiation and dialogue while, in secret, it plans a ground offensive,' Qalibaf stated in the official document. The statements of the parliamentary leader came amid maximum regional tension and added pressure to the already fragile stability in the Middle East, as Noticias Argentinas was able to find out. The Iranian official said that the dialogue attempts expressed by the US government would serve as a distraction from the military preparations that, according to Tehran, would be taking place covertly. The IRNA agency's complaint highlighted the regime's distrust of the White House's intentions, marking an escalation in official rhetoric. Qalibaf was firm in stating that the country is on alert over these alleged tactical movements by Washington, reaffirming Iran's stance against possible foreign military intervention. So far, US authorities have not issued a formal response to the accusations of planning a ground offensive in the conflict zone.
