Iran Strikes Back After US-Israeli Attacks, Asian Cup Draw Postponed

Following continuous US-Israeli strikes on Tehran, Iran responded by launching missiles and drones in all directions across the Gulf, targeting not only the American presence but also energy facilities and several Israeli cities. In a related development, the draw for the 2027 Asian Cup finals, originally scheduled for April 11 in host nation Saudi Arabia, has been postponed indefinitely due to the war in the Middle East, the Asian Football Confederation announced on Thursday. The AFC did not set a new date for the draw, as Asian club competitions have also been disrupted by the US-Israeli war on Iran and its repercussions on Gulf states. The draw, set to take place in Riyadh on April 11, was postponed "after a careful study to ensure the attendance of all relevant parties without obstacles," the AFC stated. "Any updates regarding new arrangements for the final draw will be announced in due time." The conflict in the Middle East escalated at the end of last month.
