Iran's official Mehr news agency quoted Iran's representative to the International Maritime Organization as saying that "ships, except enemy ships, can pass through the Strait of Hormuz in coordination with security and safety arrangements. The Iranian official blamed the current situation in the Strait of Hormuz on American and Israeli attacks. He stated that Tehran is "ready to cooperate with the organization and countries to improve maritime safety and protect seafarers".
