In a statement released by the organization, it said that this move is 'a clear indication of the regime's deep crisis and its desperate attempt to cling to power.' 'Mojahedin-e Khalq' stated that 'the Iranian people will not recognize this illegitimate successor and will continue their struggle to overthrow the theocratic regime.'

The group called on the international community not to recognize Iran's new leadership and to increase pressure on the regime in Tehran.
