Iran threatens to respond to the United States and Israel in revenge for the death of its supreme leader, according to a post on X by Tasnim, an agency linked to the armed wing of the Iranian regime. Since the joint attacks on Saturday by the U.S. and Israel, Iran has targeted the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait, among other U.S. allies where the Western power has military bases. The Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, said on Sunday that they will strike back at the U.S. and Israel for killing Ayatollah Ali Khamenei: 'They have burned the heart of the Iranian people.' 'When there is a great country like Iran, with an ancient history and a civilized people, Israel has no choice but to fragment it to dominate the region,' added the secretary, who indicated that Washington has come under Israel's control. On Sunday, Donald Trump threatened to hit Iran with 'a force never seen before' if Tehran fulfills its promise to attack the U.S. with a historic offensive. 'In response, we will burn their hearts,' he warned. In statements to state television, Larijani insisted that the death of Iran's supreme leader, who had ruled the course of the Islamic Republic for the past 37 years, 'is very painful for the nation.' However, he assured that the Persian people have faced worse events throughout history and have prevailed over invaders. 'These martyrs will strengthen the resistance of the people.' The warning came shortly after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced attacks on 27 U.S. military bases. 'Our nation possesses an innate consciousness, and God willing, it will overcome this stage with pride,' he stated. In his opinion, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, is a 'perfect symbol' of 'colonial plunder,' which he warned uses deception to convince peoples. He also said that the Republican has 'fallen into the trap' of Israel by getting involved in this war, following the offensive that both countries launched jointly on Saturday. 'Israel seeks the fragmentation of Iran.'
