Iran's Student News Agency (ISNA) announced on Sunday the appointment of cleric Ali Reza Arafi as a member of Iran's Leadership Council. The council is tasked with serving as the Supreme Leader until the Assembly of Experts elects a new leader. Arafi, a member of the Guardian Council, will be part of the interim Leadership Council alongside President Masoud Pezeshkian and Head of the Judiciary Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei.
