Iranian authorities have arrested lawyer Nasrin Sotudeh, the activist's daughter reported this Thursday, stating they have no further news of her.

«A few minutes ago, we learned that they arrested mom last night while she was alone at home,» Mehraveh Khandan wrote on Instagram.

The daughter noted that the activist's electronic devices, laptops, and mobile phone were confiscated.

«Mom has not yet contacted us, and we have no information from the authorities who detained her,» she added.

In an interview with the opposition outlet Iranwire, based in the United States, on March 30, Sotudeh criticized the Islamic Republic.

The 63-year-old lawyer has spent long periods in prison on charges such as «propaganda against the regime» and other accusations for defending women arrested for publicly removing their veils and opponents of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In 2012, she was awarded the Sakharov Prize by the European Parliament for her work in defending human rights.

Her husband, Reza Khandan, is in prison serving a sentence for his activism.

Since the beginning of the war launched by the United States and Israel on February 28, Iran has arrested thousands of people on suspicion of spying for the Hebrew state or activities against the Islamic Republic.

Additionally, it has begun to execute prisoners convicted of participating in the January protests, the fourth of whom was executed this same Thursday.
