Iran's new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, swore on Thursday to "avenge the martyrs" of his country, urged to keep the Strait of Hormuz closed, and pledged to open new fronts in the conflict with the United States and Israel.

In his first message as supreme leader, published on Thursday on his official website, he stated that studies are being conducted to open other battlefronts where the enemy is "vulnerable and inexperienced".

He added that these measures would be taken if the war continues and they serve Iran's interests.

Mojtaba Khamenei delivered a speech on open television in what was his first public appearance after succeeding his father, Ali Khamenei (who died during the joint offensive by the United States and Israel).

As reported by the Argentine News Agency from Xinhua, the ayatollah swore retaliation for the aggressions received and confirmed that Tehran will maintain its stance of military response, stating: "We will avenge the blood of our martyrs."
