Tehran, Jan 17 (NA) -- The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, assured this Saturday that the Persian nation has once again defeated the plans of the United States and Israel, after having 'extinguished the sedition' that, in his view, both countries attempted to promote within the Islamic Republic. Through a statement published on his official X social media account, the country's highest political and religious leader highlighted the resilience of the Iranian system against external pressures. The announcement that the 'sedition' has been 'extinguished' seeks to project an image of stability and total control by the Revolutionary Guard and security forces, in an attempt to deter future sources of conflict on Iranian territory. 'Once again, the nation has defeated its enemies,' Khamenei stated, reinforcing Tehran's narrative on foreign interference in the country's internal affairs. Khamenei described the end of recent internal tensions as a direct defeat for the intelligence of Washington and Tel Aviv. The use of the term 'sedition' (fitna in Arabic) is common in official Iranian discourse to delegitimize protest movements or riots, linking them to the interests of Western powers. The Supreme Leader reiterated that Iran will not yield to destabilization campaigns that seek to alter the Islamic order. Khamenei's statements come at a time of extreme volatility in the Middle East. Iran has repeatedly denounced being the target of cyberattacks, sabotage of its nuclear infrastructure, and disinformation campaigns that it directly attributes to the Mossad (Israel) and the CIA (USA).
