Internet Shutdown in Iran Continues Amid Protests

Internet shutdown imposed by Iranian authorities on Thursday amid protests ongoing for over three and a half days continues, according to the non-governmental organization NetBlocks, which monitors the internet, on Monday. In turn, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Monday that internet service in Iran will be resumed in coordination with security authorities. The organization stated that "as Iran awakens to a new day, data shows that the nationwide internet disruption has exceeded 84 hours," noting the possibility of bypassing the network outage by using a shortwave wireless device, connecting to mobile phone networks in border regions, and connecting via VPN.
