Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated on Thursday that the US administration under President Donald Trump is 'unworthy' of engagement or cooperation with Tehran. His remarks came on the occasion of the Mobilization Week and the anniversary of the founding of the Basij, a paramilitary force affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. In a televised speech, Khamenei said: 'Such a US government is unworthy of being communicated with or cooperated with by our government.' He also affirmed that rumors about Iran sending messages to Washington are 'sheer lies.' The Iranian leader added that the United States and Israel failed to 'achieve any goals' during the 12-day war between the two countries last June. In that month, Israel launched a strike on Tehran.
