Official Iranian media quoted Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Sunday as saying that the current U.S. approach to Iran shows no willingness to engage in 'equal and fair negotiations.' According to him, the policy of the United States remains hostile and does not contribute to creating favorable conditions for dialogue. Araghchi emphasized that for the resumption of negotiations, Washington needs to change its position and abandon unilateral pressure measures. 'We are open to diplomacy, but negotiations must be based on mutual respect and taking into account the interests of both sides,' he added. This statement was made against the backdrop of escalating tensions between the two countries after the U.S. withdrawal from the nuclear deal in 2018.
