Ali Shamkhani, former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (70 years), is a trusted advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in a critical confrontation with the United States that could determine Iran's fate nearly 50 years after the 1979 revolution. In an interview with Iranian director Javad Moghouy published in October, Shamkhani, referring to his miraculous rescue after an Israeli airstrike that destroyed his home in Tehran in June 2025, said: 'You scoundrels.' Shamkhani, who remained at the heart of Iran's political decision-making during one of the country's most difficult military and diplomatic confrontations, had mocked Israel after being found alive under the rubble of his home in Tehran following an airstrike in June 2025.
